We Can Get It For You!

STDL provides Interlibrary Loan service for STDL cardholders to obtain materials not owned by the library. The system allows you to place requests from home or in the library, check the status of your request, review your due dates, request renewals electronically and more. New materials (one year old or less) cannot be requested. Read instructions and policies here or call the Information/Magazine Desk at 847-923-3347.

Central and Branch Libraries Open on President’s Day

The Central Library and both Branch Libraries are open normal hours on President’s Day, Monday, February 18th.  Visit the STDL Important Dates web page for a listing of dates the library will be closed and the Locations & Hours web page for the normal hours.

New Link Added to Enter the KidZone Blog

A direct link you may easily click on to enter the KidZone, the YS Department’s new on-line blog just for kids, has been added to the Kids Page.  Simply click on the KID’S PAGE button along the left side of the STDL Home Page to display the Kid’s Page and then click on the new KidZone button.  This exciting blog features hot links, cool sites, library programs and, of course, book reviews. Check it out!

Night Owl Reference

Library users can call Night Owl Reference from library closing until midnight, seven days a week. A live librarian answers reference questions on the spot or will call back promptly with the information. By day, call the STDL reference staff at (847)923-3322.  After closing hours, call Night Owl Reference at (847)923-3101 for answers to those questions that just can’t wait until morning.

Teen Writing Club

Do you like to write stories or poems?  Would you like to meet other people who like writing?  Run by local author Catherine Stier, this growing group is a chance for teens going into grades 7 – 12 to share stories, poems and tips on getting published.

Senior Computer Classes

Heart-y Crafts for Teens
