March 29, 2008The moving exhibit “Portrait of a Soldier” currently on display in the library was just featured in the news. View the story and video from WLS-TV / ABC News. “Portrait of a Soldier” has also been featured in the Daily Herald article, “Portraits of True Patriots“.

March 28, 2008This exhibit consists of 130 pencil drawings of Illinois military men and women who have died since September 11, 2001. The work by artist Cameron Schilling will be on display from Friday, March 28 to Thursday, April 3 on the 1st floor in the New Books & Fiction Room. The exhibit is sponsored by the office of Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn. There will be a brief ceremony on Friday March 28 at 10:30 A.M.
20-20-20 — Dialog, Plot, Research
March 27, 2008Author Libby Fischer Hellmann (A Shot to Die For, Chicago Blues) will present basic guidelines for writing dialog, developing plot and doing research.
