Trouble Accessing Databases

Every so often, we get a call from someone who is unable to get into one of our databases. Usually it has to do with the security settings on the computer. Take a look at your Norton or McAfee settings the next time you’re having trouble accessing a database or take a look at these more in-depth instructions.

Creating an Effective Writing Group

These free seminars provide an opportunity to meet with authors to learn how to sharpen writing skills and get work published. AARP Driver Safety Course – April 8th and 10th

The AARP Driver Safety Course is an 8-hour classroom refresher that can help you learn the effects of aging on driving and how you can adjust your driving. Harold Sterling, the instructor, will collect a $10 materials fee at the time of the program. Susan Gibberman Wins RWA Librarian of the Year

STDL Head of Reader Services Susan Gibberman won the Romance Writers of America prestigious Librarian of the Year Award. This honor is given to librarians ‘who demonstrate outstanding support of romance authors and the romance genre.’ Susan has promoted both romance books and authors actively at STDL as well as at local and national conferences. RWA will host Susan at their national conference in San Francisco in July 2008.
