September 25, 2008The STDL Local History Digital Archive has hundreds of historic photos, documents and videos tracing the history of Schaumburg Township. Big Band Memories
September 24, 2008Bandleader Steve Cooper will show rare films and videos of the best big bands from the past – both the Swing bands and the Sweet bands. You will see and hear clips from Eddie Howard, Harry James, Glenn Miller, Spike Jones to name a few. At the end of the program, Steve will play a big band song on his trumpet. American Cinema Discussion Series
September 12, 2008Romantic Comedies through the Decades will be this year’s theme for American Cinema. Join in the laughs as we explore some of Hollywood’s greatest comedies with a lively discussion of the genre, its production, and behind-the-scene anecdotes. American Cinema will span the decades with feature length screenings and in-depth discussions, led by film buffs Alan Grimm and Dick Deranian.
