Road Named to Honor Michael Madden

At the request of our library trustees, the Village of Schaumburg trustees have honored Michael Madden, the recently retired director of the Schaumburg Township District Library, by naming the private road on the east side of the library as Michael Madden Way.  Madden served for 41 years as our director.

Kids and Science Program

A new program takes place on Tuesdays, March 3-31 from 1-1:30 p.m. for ages 4-6. Children will hear a story and participate in a related scientific activity in Youth Services Program Room 2 and Craft Room. No registration.

Looking for Income Tax Forms and Help?

If you are looking for income tax forms, come to the second floor by the Information/Magazine Desk. Many paper forms and instructions are available in our TaxForms Display or can be obtained at that desk.  Two computer terminals are also available to search for additional forms. You can also click on the Tax Info button on the right side of this homepage to locate forms, tax laws, and tax preparation assistance.

Teen Writing and Drawing Clubs

Teens in grades 6 – 12 can take their creativity to a new level with our writing and drawing clubs. Comics author Josh Elder leads the Writing Club for the first hour and artist Tim Broderick heads the Drawing Club for the second hour. STDL Gets a 5 Star Rating from Library Journal!

The Schaumburg Township District Library has received a five star rating for excellence and superior service  in The Library Journal Index of Public Library Service 2009.  This index rates 256  “star” libraries across the nation with outstanding service.  The top libraries in each group get five, four, or three Michelin guide-like stars.

Citizenship Class

The library and District 214 Community Education will present the benefits, requirements and obstacles related to U.S. citizenship, along with the process of becoming a citizen.  This is a ten week course. Come to the first class for an introduction and more information.

The Great Presidential Challenge
