Food pantry shelves in the northwest suburbs are bare and food donations have not been able to keep up with the constant demand.  As part of “Live United” Week, you CAN make a difference – donate your unopened and unexpired non-perishable food items at the Library through Friday, September 25.

Book/Film Series

 Ever read a book and then see the movie? Now is your opportunity to share the book and the movie with others. October’s book is “The Clock” with the movie version entitled “No Way Out”. 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7 pm. $25 fee gives you all the books plus you see the movie

Mary Pickersgill & the Star Spangled Banner

Author and storyteller Lynn Rymarz steps back in time to tell the life story of Baltimore flag maker Mary Pickersgill. Hear the story of how she sewed the flag which flew over Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore. This flag inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem which has become our National Anthem.
